On Saturday 15th November 2014 a large number of brethren attended Lodge Kilsyth St John No 39 to celebrate the 275th Anniversary of the lodge.
The RWM Bro William Neil Mitchell welcomed brethren from local lodges together with visiting brethren from England, Ireland and Spain. A deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Dunbartonshire headed by the Provincial Grand Master Bro John Reid McCormack was then received and a ceremony of re dedication was carried out by the Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Grand Chaplain Bro Rev Mark E Johnstone ably assisted by the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies Bro James W Clarkson. The ceremonial was carried out in a most dignified manner and was greatly appreciated by the brethren present.
A celebratory dinner was then held with various toasts being proposed with appropriate responses. A surprise appearance and short programme by members of Kilsyth Thistle Pipe Band was greatly appreciated by the visitors from outwith the Scottish constitution.
An excellent day was enjoyed by all and it marks a significant point not only in the history of the lodge but in the town of Kilsyth itself.
