Emma Cameron Charity Night

A charity cabaret night on the 8th of August in the Masonic Hall, Regent Street, Kirkintilloch raised over £4,500 for the Provincial Grand Master's chosen charity, the Emma Cameron Foundation.

Mr Alan Cameron opened the night by speaking about the work the charity is doing to help support children with cancer and their families, and around 120 people joined the fun at the Masonic Hall, Regent Street, Kirkintilloch to be entertained by a galaxy of tribute acts including the Beatles, the Bay City Rollers, Elton John, Queen, Abba and many others, all providing their talents free and arranged by Bro. Robert McPherson, PM of Lodge Clydebank No. 1234.

Everyone lent their support and gave their cash up for Irish Bingo, Tombola and a Silent Auction with many star prizes to be won. The entire Province, including Brethren, partners, families and friends have all been working hard over the last 2 years and we have now raised in excess of £32,000 for this most worthwhile cause. A Dinner has been arranged for October 6th when a cheque for at least £32,000 will be presented to Mr Cameron by the Provincial Grand Master, John R. McCormack. John said 'As Freemasons, charity is very close to our hearts and it's our pleasure to be able to help the Emma Cameron Foundation achieve their goals. The Charity Night was the successful end to 2 years' hard work and I thank everyone who has supported us.' Grateful thanks are due to many many Brethren and friends who helped make the evening the success that it was; the Provincial Grand Master trusts that everyone involved enjoyed the evening and takes this opportunity to thank everyone again. Charity certainly begins at home but in Freemasonry extends to those who need it most.
