On Wednesday 5th. of November Provincial Grand Master of Lanarkshire Middle Ward James L. Jack visited Kilsyth St. John No. 39 for the purpose of giving a lecture on the masonic connections at the Battle of Gettysburg, during the American Civil War.

That night Provincial Grand Master of Dunbartonshire Thomas K. Leckenby was also in attendance. It was a very informative and entertaining lecture much enjoyed by the brethren of Kilsyth and all the visitors there that evening. At the end of the lecture we had an excellent question and answer session which again demonstrated how much the brethren were enjoying the evening.

After this we had a raffle which raised the magnificent sum of £150 which was donated to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Lanarkshire Middle Ward's new caravan fund.
