The Big Help Out 2024
Twechar Early Years Centre is situated in the grounds of Twechar Primary School in the small rural, former mining village of Twechar, in the masonic province of Dunbartonshire. |

The Early Years Centre had been in the process of improving parts of their outdoor area and garden, however due to a lack of money and resources this was proving to be a tricky task and as a result of Masonic donations and support, they have been able to complete the refurbishment in a matter of weeks. The area has now been greatly improved with the addition of a fenced off garden area with shrubs, flowers and other bedding plants in newly cultivated and composted borders. The children can also enjoy a specially constructed sand pit filled with appropriate "play sand" and canopy for weather protection, an external "mud kitchen" and assorted children's toys. |
This is all due to various brethren from Lodge Barrhill (Twechar) No 1444 - currently celebrating its 75th anniversary - and Lodge Caledonian St John RA No 195 (Campsie) who, over a period of weeks leading up to and including, the Big Help Out weekend, have transformed the garden area into a safe and charming environment for children.
This good work by the brethren was supplemented by the presentation of a sizeable cheque from Lodge 1444 to Mrs Tracy Dodds, Depute Head of Centre.
